After the disappointment of the opening show of the season having been curtailed by terrible weather through the early hours of race day morning, the hardworking team at Australian Racing Products Redline Raceway have been busy preparing for a night of stampeding Sprintcars this coming Saturday evening. The Sprintcars are scheduled twice this season with this the first state series round Redline Raceway will hold with the Junior Sedan Promotional Association in support for the annual Piston Cup. Local fan favourite class the Street Stocks are also part of the evenings action.
Drivers that are nominated to compete in the Kings Marine Scrap Metal Sprintcar Stampede include last season’s winner James Oliver from nearby Bacchus Marsh a driver fans have claimed as a local. Ballarat racer and club committee member Sam Wren a former winner at his home track Redline will compete also, plus Bannockburn based racer and early season Bairnsdale winner Jordan Rae. Add in Steven Horton from Bacchus Marsh, the likes of Matthew Symons, and Chris Solomon whom both are often at the pointy end of any feature race and a list of drivers making over twenty competitors, and it will be a terrific nights racing.

The Ballarat Total Tools Junior Sedan Piston Cup is always an event Junior racers across Victoria like to win, in recent seasons the greater Ballarat area is starting to grow competitor numbers again and Redline will support the class where we can. Developing drivers Oscar Conder and Chase Davey are two local drivers getting a lot of miles from their wheels and figuring strongly in results. They will be up against Blake Jenkins and Jai Hallett, whilst a new club member Zade Tuitaalili will make their debut in the New Star category.

In the more experienced Top Star category of Juniors, we could see sixteen drivers racing for their own Piston Cup including Tasmanian Tyler Smith last weekend’s runner up at Nyora, they will be up against Brad Marshall third in the same race and Maddy Beach who was also a top five finisher last weekend. They will do battle with Steane Cosson, Blake Beach, Jake Bradley and James Peacock with ten other competitors in amongst the action keen to collect a trophy for themselves.
Street Stock racers just love to get out onto the Mount Buninyong race track every opportunity they can. With some big events coming up very soon drivers will be in town to get some laps in before some of Victoria’s and South Australia’s best drivers visit Ballarat. Jayden Blomeley, Mick Clark, Shaun Henry, Troy Hose are all in the line up with Blomeley and Clark the two everybody need to beat. Other locals and members in the field include Robert Smith, John Dennmeade, Jamie Crutchley, Josh Davey, Cody Blomeley, Danny Sandford, and Steven Hardie. Dennmeade and Sandford new this season will need be excited to get on track.
Racing begins at 5:00pm finishing around 10:30pm, Spectator gates open at 2pm and entry is at 569 Yankee Flat Road Buninyong. Eftpos is available and onsite food vans operate.
